The “Macao Week in Chongqing” roadshow will liven up the Jiefangbei Square at Yuzhong District in Chongqing from 2 to 6 December. An opening ceremony will lift curtains upon this mega promotional event officially on Friday (3 December). A wide variety of captivating promotions are progressively rolled out in Chongqing to attract residents to the roadshow for a firsthand experience of Macao’s “tourism +” and entice Mainland visitors to Macao for travel and spending to foster tourism and economic revival in Macao.
Head-turning advertising on Naked-Eye 3D Screen in Chongqing
To further promote the event, MGTO has unfolded an array of physical promotions across Chongqing prior to the roadshow opening, including both stationary advertisements and animated commercials on the exterior LED walls of different buildings. A 3D animated commercial about travel to Macao is specially displayed on the 'Wings of Chongqing' Naked-Eye 3D Screen, known as the hottest check-in spot in Jiefangbei Central Business District, to offer pedestrians an immersive visual experience.
Video commercials about Macao’s “tourism +” elements are also screened on the exterior LED walls of buildings including Jiefangbei Square Commercial Building, Jiefangbei Square Golden Eagle Fortune Center and Jiefangbei Square Chongqing Department Store. An advertisement is also shown upon the LED wall of Chongqing World Financial Center to brand Macao as a safe and glamorous destination.
Transit marketing is an itinerant way to advertise and reach a wide audience. Advertisements are hence placed upon numerous buses to promote the “Macao Week in Chongqing”, “Macao Light Festival 2021 – Travellers from Mars” and “Light up Macao Drone Gala”. The bus routes cover Jiefangbei Central Business District, other major business districts, avenues and tourist attractions. Lightbox advertisements are also placed at MTR stations.
Marketing initiatives + travel offers
The event will present over RMB-100-million special travel offers on air tickets, hotel accommodation, dining and so forth for residents in Chongqing. Widening the coverage of online promotions, MGTO offers information about the Macao Week in Chongqing via the H5 page, Weibo, Xiaohongshu, Douyin, WeChat, Meituan and DianPing among other social media. The Office also rolls out extensive promotions for the Macao Week in Chongqing via different channels such as Yizhibo, Weibo, ctrip.com, Ly.com, Fliggy.com and Tuniu.com, as well as through the wide influence of several travel KOLs who keep conducting relevant live streams on different platforms.
The Macao Week in Chongqing is organized by the Secretariat for Economy and Finance of the Macao SAR Government, the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Chongqing Municipality, Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development and the People’s Government of Yuzhong District of Chongqing Municipality. The coordinators include Macao Government Tourism Office, Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute and Chongqing Jiefangbei Central Business District Management Committee. The supporting entities include Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, Industrial Association of Macau, Macau Importers & Exporters Association, the Federal General Commercial Association of Macau Small and Medium Enterprises, Macau Cuisine Association and the Westin Chongqing Liberation Square. The participating entities include Galaxy Macau, Melco Resorts & Entertainment, MGM, Sands Resorts Macao, SJM Resorts, Wynn Resorts (Macau) S.A., Air Macau, as well as various small and medium-sized enterprises from Macao.
