  • Lai Chi Vun Shipyards is a cluster of heritage-related buildings that preserve the tradition of shipbuilding crafts. It is the only traditional shipbuilding-industry site in Macao that has survived relatively intact, standing as a testimony to the urban development, industrialisation, and lifestyle in Macao during the second half of the 20th century.

  • Lots X11 to X15 from the first-phase revitalisation of the Lai Chi Vun Shipyards have been opened, covering an area of about 3,000 square metres.

  • Lots X11 to X15 of the Lai Chi Vun Shipyards offer a themed exhibition area. The site is also used to host art and craft markets, performances, and workshops.

  • Lots X11 to X15 of the Lai Chi Vun Shipyards are officially open. They showcase recreational and cultural-activity space with Macao’s shipbuilding industry as the theme.

  • The revitalisation of Lots X11 to X15 of the Lai Chi Vun Shipyards injects fresh purpose to the traditional industrial site, via the arts.

  • The themed exhibition at the shipyards titled “Moments in History – The Story of Lai Chi Vun Village” reminds the public about the history and culture of the Lai Chi Vun Shipyards and of Lai Chi Vun Village.

  • The exhibition features three main zones: "Ships Carrying Tales"; "Shipbuilders Practising Craftsmanship and Techniques"; and "Memories Passing Through Generations".

  • The wooden boats displayed in the shipyards allow citizens and tourists to learn more about the shipbuilding industry.

  • Inside the shipyards, equipment including a sawmill, shipbuilding tools, and fishing gear are on display.

  • Residents and tourists can learn about the structure of ships and the history of the shipyards through interactive multimedia games.
