  • Virtual reality (VR) technology allows visitors to immerse themselves in the magnificent architecture of 400 years ago relating to the former Mater Dei Church, of which only remains the Ruins of St. Paul’s.

  • The second half of December last year saw launch of the first phase of the exhibition. Due to popular demand, the exhibition period has been extended and fresh visitor sessions have been made available, so that a greater number of locals and tourists can enjoy this unique experience.

  • An updated version of the experience-based exhibition is to be launched officially on 24 March. The update includes additional virtual-reality interpretations, one titled “Procession and mass” and another titled “The mass and the crab dance”. There are additional digital interpretations reconstructing the exterior of the original church and its surroundings.

  • Augmented reality (AR) is also utilised in the exhibition venue and the open area of the Ruins of St. Paul’s College, enabling the public to immerse themselves – from multiple perspectives – in Macao’s centuries-old history and its culture of East-West links.
