Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Chui Sai On appointed Mr. Lei Chin Ion as the new director of the Hospital Conde de S. Januario, following the recommendation from the Director Designated of Department of Health, Kui Kuok Ieng.

Born in Macau in 1960, Mr. Lei Chin Ion finished his bachelor degree of Medicine at Jinan University, Guangzhou in 1984. In 1996, Mr. Lei got his master degree of Public Administration at Zhongshan University. In 2000, he was awarded the scholarship of World Health Organization. Mr. Lei was the general practitioner and general internship in Health Center. Later, he was promoted as the specialist and consultant of internal medicine in Centro Hospitalar Conde de S. Januario. At present, he is the chief medical officer of the department of Internal Medicine of the Hospital/; committeeman of the Board of Medical Trainees of Department of Health and president of the Board of Hospital Infection Control of the Hospital, and assistant of Hospital Board of Director of Centro Hospitalar Conde de S. Januario.
