Cheok Ka Village is one of the oldest villages in Taipa, with a history spanning more than 300 years. It is located in the northern part of Taipa, near the campus of the City University of Macau.

Buildings in the village mostly have two storeys and are side by side. Houses that are 100 years old still stand in Cheok Ka Village.

In the past, the village’s inhabitants mostly engaged in agriculture. To date, there are about 10 families still living in the village.

Within Cheok Ka Village, there are Tin Hao Temple (pictured left) and Kuan Tai Temple (pictured right). Their plastered walls are painted green.

Following Macao’s community development in recent years, Cheok Ka Village is now surrounded by tall buildings.
