Organized by the Macao Museum of Art (MAM) under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, and co-organized by the Architects Association of Macau, the “Connectivities: Living beyond the boundaries – Macao and the Greater Bay Area, the 17^th International Architecture Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia – Works of the Collateral Event of Macao, China”, will be inaugurated on 18 June (Friday), at the Taipa Houses, at 6:30pm. The exhibition team comprises the curator, Carlos Marreiros, the renowned Macao architect, and young local architects and urban planners Ho Ting Fong, Che Chi Hong, Lao Man Si and Chan Ka Tat. The four exhibits, titled “Connected”, “Connectivity is from point to point!”, “Boundary Verticalisation – the Collision of Two Different Urban System” and “Coexistence”, present the relationship between architecture, land reclamations, collective memory and urban life from multiple perspectives, offering visitors a picture of the cross-border life in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The “17^th International Architecture Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia – Exhibits from Macao, China” was opened to the public on 22 May in Venice, Italy. Considering the epidemic prevention and safety, the physical works are exhibited in Macao and the related works are presented at the Macao-China Pavilion in Venice through electronic media, showcasing the concept of the works, the assembly process and interviews with the exhibition team, allowing visitors from both places to view the exhibition “simultaneously”, breaking the limitations of space and distance, and expanding the possibilities of “connectivity” through technology.

“Connectivities: Living beyond the boundaries – Macao and the Greater Bay Area, the 17^th International Architecture Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia – Works of the Collateral Event of Macao, China”, will be held from 19 June to 24 September at the Exhibitions Gallery and Nostalgic House of the Taipa Houses, from 10am to 7pm, including public holidays, and closed on Mondays. Admission is free. IC will strictly follow the relevant anti-epidemic guidelines of the Health Bureau and implement appropriate measures for cultural activities. All visitors must wear face masks, undergo body temperature checks, present a valid “Macao Health Code” of the day. There will be restrictions as to the number of people admitted to the venue.
