In accordance with the latest turn of the pandemic situation in Guangdong Province, the Macao Special Administrative Region Government continues to update its measures against COVID-19. The Centre for Disease Control and Prevention has issued the latest version of “Prevention of Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia – Recommendation to Require Presentation of ‘Macao Health Code’ for Admission to Public Areas”. To implement the measure of checking Macao Health Code presented by individuals upon admission, effective from tomorrow (9 June), individuals must present Macao Health Code upon admission to establishments under Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO)’s supervision as follows: hotels and guest houses, restaurants, bars, karaoke lounges, night clubs, saunas, massage parlours and health clubs. Holders of Macao Health Code in Red or Yellow Colour will be denied admission to such establishments.

Industry operators must conduct pandemic prevention properly

Given the latest situation against the pandemic, MGTO once again advises all local hotels, guesthouses, integrated resorts as well as catering and other establishments under MGTO’s supervision to carry out pandemic prevention properly in accordance with all the COVID-19 prevention guidelines and advices issued by Health Bureau, including the requirements to wear masks, have the temperature checked and present Macao Health Code upon admission to these establishments, among other measures. MGTO has delegated staff to inspect the above establishments regarding their compliance with pertinent measures.

Local tours under the “Stay, Dine and See Macao” project must be operated in strict compliance with Health Bureau’s guidelines on pandemic prevention. Holders of Macao Health Code in Red or Yellow Colour are not allowed to participate in the above tours.

If necessary, please contact the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention at the enquiry hotline: 853-28700800; MGTO’s 24-hour Tourism Hotline: 853-28333000. Establishments under MGTO’s supervision can refer to Decree No. 16/96/M and Decree No. 47/98/M.
