Macao and Portugal sign protocol in health sector

Macao and Portugal signed a protocol Monday to strengthen their cooperation in the field of health.

Two governments were represented by State secretary for Health of Portugal, Francisco Ventura Ramos and Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of Macao SAR, Chui Sai On.

Chief Executive Ho witnessed the signing ceremony which was held at the Headquarters.

In line with the protocol, the two places will cooperate more closely in the sectors of community health care, prevention and control in illness, hospital management, medical training and services and academic exchanges.

Meanwhile, both sides agreed to exchange medical documents and writings/; introduce new technologies and knowledge in health sector/; to held professional training and seminars jointly.

At the invitation of Mr. Chui, the State Health Secretary led a delegation to pay a four-day visit to Macao. During the visit, the delegation has visited the public hospital and public health centers in Macao.
