The Opening Ceremony of the “2018 Forum for International Cooperation in Traditional Medicine International (Macao)” jointly organized by the Government of Macao Special Administrative Region and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and coordinated by the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Cooperation between Guangdong and Macao (hereafter referred to as GMTCM Park) will take place on 20 September 2018 at the Venetian Macao Hotel. On the occasion, the launch ceremony of the International Youth TCM Practitioners Exchange Center of the GMTCM Park and the signing ceremony of a Cooperation Agreement with international cooperation institutions and key enterprises will also be concluded.

The present Forum themed “Development and Internationalization of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area,” comprises a two-day event, with the participation of personalities of acknowledged merit from the industry’s regulatory authorities, R&D specialists and scholars, and corporate executives from Macao, Mainland China, Hong Kong, the United States, the European Union, the ASEAN and the Portuguese-speaking countries, totaling approximately 400 professionals. The event comprised keynote speeches, special reports, an Investment and Financing Forum, a Business Matching, a Salon for youth Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioners, among others. The participating guests are expected to exchange views on issues such as policies, technologies, market prospects, investment and financing strategies concerning “Traditional Medicine, the Health Industry, International Cooperation, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area,” aiming at seizing the development opportunities in the “Belt and Road” Initiative and Greater Bay Area to promote sustainable development and adequate diversification of Macao’s economy, as well as regional development towards the advancement of the goal of construction of “One Center, One Platform”, giving full play to the GMTCM Park’s role as an “International Window of  ‘Belt and Road’ in TCM industry and Culture", and fostering the country’s international cooperation in the Traditional Medicine industry.

Following the opening ceremony, a series of keynote speeches and special reports will be delivered by local and overseas guest specialists and scholars of Traditional Medicine industry, centered on three major themes: policy innovation, market integration, and investment opportunities. On the 20th, the GMTCM Park will host an Exchange Salon for local and overseas young TCM practitioners, to enhance their experience sharing and advice seeking from TCM masters. On the 21st, a Business Matching and an Investment and Financing Forum will also take place.  The Business Matching will focus on the international development status, market development of Traditional Medicine, market supervision and other related topics, supported by product display, technical exchanges and business consultations for enterprises and distributors. The Investment and Financing Forum takes form of an on-the-spot roadshow. While experts from various fields and investment institutions review the projects, industrial investment funds and professional investment institutions will also conduct project comparisons and provide sufficient coverage for project parties and investors to broaden potential cooperation and utilize capital and transform TCM outcomes.

The 2018 Traditional Medicine International Cooperation Forum (Macao China) is an annual brand event of the GMTCM Park that has been successfully organized for three consecutive years, and built its good reputation within the industry to become an important bridge for exchanges and cooperation between the local and overseas industries. It is believed that as the content of the Forum continues to enrich and innovate, more fruitful results can be achieved, while deepening the international exchanges and cooperation in the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
