Renovation project of the Tap Siac Square Commercial Centre has been initiated

The “Renovation of the Tap Siac Square Commercial Centre (also known as Glass House) has been initiated in early November. It covers a total area of 5,200m2 in a five-storey building, including three basements and two floors above ground. The tendering of the project is being followed up by the Land, Public Works and Transport Bureau, with a construction period of around 330 days. The project includes the reconstitution of waterproofing works, the restoration of the electrical and mechanical installations, fire safety equipment, water supply and drainage, electricity supply, surveillance and broadcasting system, among other installations, as well as adjustments in the usage of some space. Upon completion of the works, the Tap Siac Square Commercial Centre will be open tender for public, allowing the cultural and creative entities to set up there in order to promote the growth of the cultural and creative industries. The related works of open tender is expected to be carried out in the fourth quarter of 2017 and the Tap Siac Square Commercial Centre is expected to be reopened in the second half of 2018.Source : Cultural Affairs Bureau During the renovation period, the “Temporary Rehearsal Venue Booking Programme of Tap Siac Square Commercial Centre” will be suspended, while the “Portuguese-speaking Countries Food Products Exhibition Centre”, located in the R1 section of the Tap Siac Square Commercial Centre, will remain open to the public. -- The End --
