Busking Programme trial phase launched
Applications for Busker Card open from next week

In order to promote the public’s appreciation and participation in artistic and cultural activities, revitalize the community and create a cultural atmosphere by providing local arts and cultural workers a performing platform and introducing domestic and overseas quality street performances, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) launches the “Busking Programme” trial phase from this month. Three Busking points are available in the first phase. Interested individuals can apply for the Busker Card from Monday, 7 November. Source : Cultural Affairs Bureau The “Busking Programme” aims to offer a public platform for Buskers to showcase their artistic talent through street performances at the Busking Points. The three types of busking activities are performing arts, visual arts and creative crafts. The first phase of the programme will run for three months. During the trial period, the performances may be held at Anim’Arte NAM VAN, the Taipa Houses and Mount Fortress Garden every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays. Buskers who are interested to use the Busking Points must first apply for a Busker Card before they can perform at the Busking Points in the designated opening hours. The Busker Card is valid up to 31 January 2017. Interested individuals can apply for a Busker Card online through IC’s webpage or in person at the Cultural Affairs Bureau Building from Monday to Friday (excluding on public holidays) from 10am to 5:30pm (including during lunch hour).
